FIVE Cooma Monaro primary schools took part in the Sportz play multischools skills basketball carnival on Wednesday.

Sponsors, parents and teachers helped the 150 students take part in the carnival with Saint Patrick's Parish School being named the overall winner.

Jason Warren-Smith from Sportz play said the day was a huge success and thanked the netball association for loaning their courts and canteen facilities.

There were games, dribbling competitions and target practice to encourage the students to get fit and have fun at the same time.
