Gymnasts YMCA Snowy Mountains Gymnastic Club attended a regional grading camp at Belconnen on Sunday, August 17, and came home with some spectacular results.
While there, eight competitors from Cooma competed against Yass in the level one to level three event categories.
The Snowy Mountains competitors were Jaidene Brown, Teleah Cavanagh, Samantha Harvey, Amelia Crawford, Rhani Taylor, Brittney Crawford, Ellie Symons and Lia Venola, who competed in the vault, uneven bars, beam and floor.
This was the first time the club had competed in the national grading competition, which involved slightly more difficult routines than the NSW level.
Lia Venola had the best score in the competition, while Amelia Crawford got an outright first in level 3B, which was the hardest level in the competition.
She was selected to go to represent the Riverina area in the State Championships in Sydney next month.
